The First Place of an international competition for the Grand Theater is a spiral form in the shape of a ram’s horn, which represents the city’s “Myth of the Ram.” This 48,000 m2 performing arts center features a curved colonnade at one end of the spiral that leads people up from the Ticketing Hall, Exhibition Hall, Multi-function Hall, and Rehearsal Hall to the Grand Theater. A 40-meter-high gallery theater lobby draws the visitors from the raised plaza. The pro-cession concludes in the 1,800-seat Grand Auditorium of the Theater.

The glazing shell of the building provides a meaningful opportunity for an integrated solar panel system.
